Same Day Crowns

A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface, restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations. A crown may become necessary or desired, for one or more of the following reasons:

There are several different kinds of crowns. The most popular type of crowns are porcelain crowns, because they most resemble your natural teeth. Crowns are made durable and strong. They are expected to last many years but, like most dental restorations, a crown may eventually need replacement (especially if not taken care of with regular cleanings). Porcelain crowns are made and customized in size, shape and color to match your naturally grown teeth. This is done to restore full functionality to your teeth and to provide optimal cosmetic results for your smile. A One-Visit Cerec Crown may be an option.

In our office we use CEREC technology for many of our crowns. This empowers us to scan, design, and mill beautiful porcelain crowns right in the office. Imagine coming into our dental office to receive a crown, and walking out an hour or two later with a strong, durable and cosmetically beautiful crown already in place. With a CEREC crown there’s no need for multiple appointments, or a temporary crown, to receive a crown. Now you can receive a crown in just one visit.

In the process, your teeth will be digitally scanned, and the information and data of the scan will be sent to an in-office milling machine that will create your crown in an extremely short period of time (as opposed to sending a mold to a laboratory, and waiting for the technicians to fit your crown into their schedule).
